Traditional methods of pile driving installation is fast becoming a thing of the past. No longer are companies prepared to accept downtime waiting on surveyors, employ endless human resources and accept endless hours of rework due to inaccuracies.

Groundwork were commissioned to provide 2 X 1000 Solar Pile Drivers with Manual GPS piling solutions to a site in Salome, Arizona.

The site had 14,000 piles to drive. There were two GPS controlled machines and two standard machines. The GPS Piling Solution won the day by out-performing the standard machines by 25%.

Other cost savings include up to $2,000 per day in the survey set up costs.There is no longer the requirement for string lines and plant markers to indicate where the piles should go. The GPS System can import your CAD design data of your job site that contains all the pile point locations.

Reworking of piles is reduced to less than 5%.

The latest system can:

  • Locate the pile within 1/2 “
  • Drive the piles to within 1/4 “
  • Allowing for accurate orientation of the pile
